Snow Sports Merit Badge Opportunities

Are you ready for Winter fun? Like it or not, the white stuff is coming down, and here in Northcentral Montana, that means that many of us will be getting ready for opportunities skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing!

This year, the District will be offering the Snow Sports Merit Badge as an addition to the upcoming Merit Badge Pow-Wow.  Each Sunday following the Pow-Wow, we will be teaching the Snow Sports Merit Badge at Showdown Ski area.  If at least 20 Scouts sign up for the merit badge, then we can offer group rates.  Confirmed instructors so far are Dr. Peter Jennings, Aaron Weissman and Ben Haugen.  Please comment below or send an email to Aaron Weissman at if you are interested.

If there is enough interest, we will also offer the Snow Ski and Board Sports Belt Loop and Pin for Cub Scouts.

In addition, Troop 7 Assistant Scoutmaster and Showdown Ski Patroller Tony Malisani will be also teaching the merit badge and making it available to any Scout in the District.  If you are interested in taking the merit badge, please show up at their meeting tomorrow, as discussed in the comment below:
