Troop 43 is looking for a Boy Scout Troop and/or Cub Scout Pack to take over the Annual Coat & Warm Clothing Drive scheduled for Sat, Oct 25th. If your unit is interested, please contact Char Ross at 899-8851 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sources have verified the awesome presence of Big Red himself at the Copper Creek Campground during this past weekend’s Fall Camporee.
Contrary to popular suspicion, Big Red is not Paul Grosvold, Scoutmaster of the victorious Troop 1. That said, Paul and Company earned top honors for their winning performance in the Knot Challenge, Forestry Skills, Fishing, Astronomy 101, and Camp Setup this weekend at the camporee. By all eyewitness accounts, Paul and his team will be tough to beat at the next District Klondike Derby.
But Big Red… see for yourself at the Popcorn Sale Kickoff Rally this Saturday 9:30am at the Scout Office. Bring Mom and Dad and Grandma and Grandpa too. See you there!
But still no cubby… If you see him, give him a hug. It’ll do you both some good.
Thank you to all that helped to make the 2014 Fall Camporee a really fun event. I am still sore from looking up so much at all the stars, and from the 5 mile hike. I was so impressed by the men from Carroll Collage Astronomy to do this with their limited free time. Many thanks to my Committee members as I would not have been able to do it without you.
The following are the winners
First Place Troop 1 ……Mountain Lions
Second Place Troop 28…..Carnivorous Watermelons
Third Place troop 28……Scorpions
Good work by all the Troops and the Leaders

“Beware the coming of BIG RED!
… also, has anyone seen Cubby?”
Was asked why so many points for flags at your camp? Look at it this way….the better your flags set up is the more points you will get. A nice gate or arch instead of say sticking a pole in the ground and saying good enough!
Missed the points on knot tying too……it will be 200 possible
