Thank you to the units, boy scouts, cub scouts, parents and siblings who braved the cold weather last Saturday to distribute Scouting for Food Bags. This Saturday, March 29, 2014, scouts will pick up food bags for delivery to the local Great Falls Food Bank, located at 1620 12th Avenue North in Great Falls. We are well on our way to our goal of collecting and donating 20,000 pounds of food this year to the Food Bank.
Food bag pick-up should not begin before 9 a.m. Scouts should be in full Class A, field dress, uniform; be reminded to use the buddy system when picking up bags; to utilize sidewalks as much as possible; be extra cautious when crossing streets; do not knock on doors, never enter a closed gate; and never, ever, enter a residence. Parents are reminded to not allow scouts to ride in the back of open air pickups.
The Lewis and Clark District, Scouting for Food Coordinator Deanna Rutten, 406 217-1079, will be at the Great Falls Food Bank beginning at 9 a.m. should you have any questions. You may pick up your unit participation ribbon and scouting for food patches at the Food Bank following delivery of your collected food.
Thank you in advance for your continued support to the Scouts of the Lewis and Clark District and to our neighbors in need through the Great Falls Food Bank.
