Attention all Cub Scout Units- the 2012 Chariot Races are just around the corner! This year’s event will be held at Paris Gibson School at 2400 Central Avenue on December 1st. Registration will begin at noon and continue until 1:30, with racing kicking off at 2:00pm. Cost is $5 / Scout. The Chariot Races are a premiere event for our District Cub Scouts- if you haven’t had the pleasure to attend in the past, assemble your teams and mark your calendars. Teams are formed by rank- if you are short team members you can utilize a Scout from the next higher rank as a rider in the Chariot.
All team members should have access to SOFT kneepads without rigid plastic in order to avoid damage to the gym floor- like volleyball kneepads. Riders need to wear a bike helmet as well. For full details, chariot construction blueprints, and course guidelines, go to www.lcmtbsa.org and open the link at the bottom of the home page.
See you there!
Popcorn arrives today November 8, 2012. Volunteers are urgently needed to help count, verify and load Unit popcorn orders. All are welcome! If you can help for an hour or two (or longer), please arrive at noon to the Big R Distribution Center, 5109 Alaska Trail, Great Falls, MT. (River Drive North, South on North Star Blvd, East on Alaska Trail). The District will provide pizza to all volunteers. We hope, if we have enough volunteers, to allow Unit’s to pick up their orders by 5:00 p.m.
