Robin Lynn Jimenez, of Great Falls, lost her valiant battle with cancer on December 19, 2011, at the age of 44. Robin was an inspiration to all who knew her. Despite the numerous rounds of chemotherapy, she never allowed it to get in the way of doing the things she loved. Robin continued to be a devoted mother, life partner and friend. She always put others ahead of herself, despite how terrible she might be feeling. “I can’t” was never a part of Robin’s vocabulary!
On July 19, 1967, Robin was born to John and Catherine Jimenez in Newark, New Jersey, later graduating from Frank H. Morrell High School in Irvington, New Jersey. From the time she was a child, Robin possessed a zest for life, always looking for the next adventure. Robin’s son James was born in 1995 and she loved him with all her heart and soul. She was James’ biggest fan and supporter. In 2000, Robin and James moved to Great Falls to begin a new life together with her partner Jack Polich. At that time she became actively involved in the school community at Holy Spirit Catholic School, as well as a strong supporter of Boy Scouting. Whenever asked, Robin was there to help in whatever capacity was needed—from assistant den mother at Pack 14 to popcorn sales coordinator for Troop 1, to chaperoning one of the many fieldtrips and activities at Holy Spirit. Robin was an accomplished chef, baker, cake decorator, seamstress, artist, and yes, even hunter! Every Halloween she created new costumes for James. Robin loved to travel and enjoyed serving as a tour guide for her Montana visitors. She loved to be busy!
In addition to her son James McGary and life partner Jack Polich, Robin is survived by her parents, John E. Jimenez of Union, NJ, and Catherine Jimenez of Plainfield, NJ, sisters Katy Jimenez and Susan Jimenez of Palmerton, PA, and brothers John Jimenez and David Jimenez, both of Plainfield, NJ.
Memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic School or Boy Scouts Troop 1 are encouraged.
Robin’s light and love will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
